Focusing on postural alignment, range of motions, flexibility, strength, as well as using breathwork and meditation to address and manage stress
Yoga – Yoga is a term used to cover all ancient principles and practices of Yoga. Yoga at its most basic is the combination of physical postures with breath. Therapeutic yoga offers specific postures tailored to the client’s needs to improve postural alignment and range of motion as well as increase flexibility and strength.
Breathwork – Breathwork is the term used to cover different types of breathing exercises or techniques. Breathwork is the conscious control of the rate, rhythm, and depth of breathing to reduce stress and anxiety as well as improve focus.
Meditation – Meditation is a practice where an individual uses a technique – such as mindfulness, or focusing the mind on a particular object, thought, or activity – to train attention and awareness and achieve a state of presence and peace of mind.
Chakra Alignment with Reiki – The Chakras are the energy centers that regulate the flow of life force energy in the body. Balancing or alignment through Reiki healing is a technique used to channel energy into the client’s energy centers to activate the body’s natural healing processes and restore physical, mental and emotional well-being.
Sound Therapy – Quartz crystal singing bowls and other sound therapy tools are used to restore the natural vibratory frequencies of the body, mind and soul. Bringing harmony to your entire being!
Yoga reduces stress, lowers blood pressure, calms the nervous system, increases flexibility, improves balance as well as strengthens the joints and muscles. As flexibility increases through a regular yoga practice, so does the client’s range of motion, not only that, but it helps eliminate stiffness, soreness, and inflammation, which puts the body into a state that is more conducive to the health benefits of chiropractic care. By strengthening the muscles and stretching the ligaments and tendons the body builds a natural resistance to future injury.
Although chiropractic’s and yoga come from entirely different backgrounds, the concept that yoga heals the body as a whole closely mirrors the concept of chiropractic care. Both foundations take an Integrative approach to health and offers physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual benefits when practiced together. By incorporating yoga sessions into a treatment plan, chiropractic clients receive increased overall health benefits.
